Yeh, early to mid morning would be much better. WoW Wednesday maintenance was around 7am - 11am, if I recall correctly.

Students shouldn't be paying for MMO's with their loans. It's bad enough we have to sub the bastards with our tax money.

Had my CE order confirmed. Being picked and packed ready for delivery.

Hey, is there not a page where I can see all the spells/skills ingame???

I already found a german wiki, but they were only talking about the lore of each class, not that useful.

I can no longer read the forum without an account. Strange, I had a forum account there, but it seems now you need a game account to view them.

http://www.hybes.de/ has all the abilities and feats etc. The official forums are now tied to your account, so you cant access it anymore if you don't have an AoC account.

I agree with Malice Black on the student loan business. People on student loans should not use the grant to play video games while at school.

Well I'm in the game and even though I don't meet minimum requirements the game looks and feels great. Smooth gameplay and opening sequences. I don't like the non space in the names however as I would like to have first and last names or at least have room for capitol letters. I was able to quickly reserve a few good names, but I was unable to get Orin or Nim (two names I normally use, dang I want last names). BTW I think the opening slave boat scene is simply fantastic.

Took me a while to discover how to figure out the detailed customization of facial features such as cheek location, thickness of eyebrows etc. I'll post some screen shots later when I can.

IGN's
GloryFox
Belcon
Coca

I might end up changing the class options for these characters later.

Also @ Malace...
Just because I choose to do PvE does not make me a care bear (the term is meant to insult and it's immature at best). I would prefer to enjoy some relaxing visual aspects of the game before I run into PvP. As stated earlier I would prefer to look at the scenery before someone walked up behind me and chopped my head off just as I was enjoying some of the in game landscape art. Furthermore the PK spawn campers are ruining the PvP servers right now. No sense in playing something and getting frustrated that I'm dead as I load into an instance. Getting killed before I can even move is not a game of skill, as much as many PvP players seem to think. I also think it says a lot about the "PvP is better then thou", attitude that permeates like a rotted meat carcass in online games at the moment.

Not all students work in Maccy d's, almost the entire weekend workforce at debenhams call centre are also students lol.

£10 an hour on sundays (only day i work) and £250 for every person you "introduce" is win.

Anyway on topic, the AoC sites down atm and i was just wondering what you can use as far as the subscription payments go, is it just credit cards and time cards or do they use paypal and stuff?

I'm lacking a credit card see.

I'd be pretty interested to see how the end-game plays out. Leveling and developing a character is always fun, but what happens at the cap is what intrigues me the most. Coincidentally, it's also why I'm going to wait even longer about investing in it. I'm not talking about just what'll be available, but how good + balanced it'll all be, and how each class performs at the endgame.

Agreed with GloryFox about the PvP servers, by the way.

Ahm jus' kidding. Been there twice meself, although the second time I held down a full time job and a full time degree... >.<

Personally I like the system in WoW on "normal" servers, where you can enable and disable your PvP flag, so that those that want to gank each other can get on with it without annoying everyone else.

Except hunters, unless they changed the snake trap ruse since I last played....

Aah, well I ended up rolling onto the Blue Whatchamacallit PVP server. I rolled a ranger first, and they mopped the floor with my face. So at level 12, I made another, a demonologist. I am having a blast with it now!

It helps to get in a guild as in every game, especially PVP. You do have the option in this game of leveling up to 20 in non-PVP areas/instances to get a feel for the game before diving into FFA areas.

I'll post my name after I get better and less 'newby'. :P

I think you may be the entire population of the fan base for that game.

On another note, I decided to take the torrent route for downloading the client. I use thepiratebay.org, its very efficient and has a great community that notifies of any fraud or viruses. Should only take about 14-16 hours.

~Dan~ If I may I'd like to reserve another trial for use after my first trial (generously provided by malice) if I still hesitate to buy the game, I may want to try a different class type.

Edit: Only 10 hours left. Torrents FTW

Edit #2: 673kbs
